WEASEL WORDS and INFORMATION:  

I strive to build the best, usable custom leather products possible. I design and build unique custom leather products with custom art. I do not intend to and can not compete with mass produced and stamped leather product manufacturers. They have some excellent bargains for the money. Many times they can sell product cheaper than I can purchase the raw materials.  If that is what you can best afford, please use their products.

Tex45 holsters are made of high quality Herman Oaks cowhide tooling leather. Please understand that all cowhides are not consistent either in density, thickness, or finish and texture and do not accept light dyeing or tooling evenly. Some variation is common with all leather products.

Molded pancake and flatback holsters will be made with 7 to 8.5 oz leather if single layer and not tooled unless otherwise specified. Ranger type or SAA will be made using 8.5 to 10 oz leather if single layer. Double layered leather weights will vary dependent on your requirements.

I will always furnish molded holsters that will secure your weapon firmly in the holster.

All molded holsters are dried with a pistol in them for an exact fit.

All holsters will require a short break-in period of use for smooth drawing and re-holstering. I use a water based eco-friendly sealing wash w/dye stain or a leather balm/wax on the inside of all holsters to seal the leather from moisture expansion or changes.

All holsters I make will have a full grip for draw without the need to reposition your hand before ready or firing.

I cover all triggers with holster leather unless requested otherwise.

Information needed to build a custom holster:

1. Gun type, manufacturer, model, barrel length, site configuration?
2. Holster type wanted; OWB, Hybrid, IWB, pancake, flatback, ranger, etc?
3. Dye color; natural tanned, black, brown, cordovan, burgundy, hot pink, wood graining or specific shading and color  combinations?
4. Belt slit size ( 1.5" is most common) and is it a double thick gun belt?
5. Lined or doubled with smooth side in both sides?
6. Sweat shields or snap safety hammer straps?
7. Leather weight, thickness or stiffness requirements if different from above and type of finish?
8. Tooling, stamping, initialing, or other custom services?
9. Other special requirements or designs?
